What is exactly the association Fleur-de-Lotus/Jasmin ?

 

Named Fleur de Lotus in Switzerland, but hold the name of Fleur de Jasmin in Cambodia due to various administrative reasons, this association have been created in 2008 at La Chaux-de-Fonds between a Cambodian refugee family and a Swiss family. This association raises funds to build and operate an orphanage for Cambodian girls abandoned. The home is located in the village "Neak Leung" 60 km from the capital Phnom Penh. This home is born in the mind of Ms Mui Han to help the most disadvantaged girls of her village when she survived the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime and had the chance to rebuild her life in Switzerland , this orphanage deserves support for both girls collected and Han Mui in its commitment to help the poorest compatriots. To date (November 2013), the orphanage has only one floor where 14 girls are actually living.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Why I got the idea to become an Ambassador and to raise money for these girls ?

 

During my stay there, I was impressed with the education and behavior that they had neglected. Despite being orphaned every day, they had a smile on their faces... All the girls, including the youngest one of 3 years old, will wake up everyday between 5:00am and 6:00am starting the day by cleaning around the orphanage. They have a lot of complicity between them, all of them take care of each other, help each other and each one is participating at the household chores of the orphanage (kitchen, dishes, cleaning...) In addition to all of that, it is very rare to hear one of them crying and even more rare to hear them complaining. I thought that it was marvellous and this really shocked me positively.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For my part, I had the chance to grow under a roof with running water and electricity as well as to be raised in a healthy family with a Mom and Dad who have been there for me when I needed them... Seeing these little orphaned girls, I told myself that I had to help them as I could.

 

I don't think that anyone want to grow as an orphan. That is why, after my experience there, I decided to become an ambassador with the challenge to raise $10,000... All the money raised will go to fund the construction of a second floor of the orphanage, furniture, school supplies for the little girls and as well to make real a trip to the beach, because for most of these girls, they never had the chance to go to the sea...
