Biography:

I'm Yannick, I lived most of my childhood in Switzerland, in a fantastic small village named Yvonand. My youth was normal and ordinary like most of all the young people...

Once my studies completed, I spent nearly four years working & traveling around the world to install, repair, relocate and modify machinery used to cut cardboard to make all kinds of packaging (packs of cigarettes, boxes for pharmaceutical, packaging biscuits) ...

My first big step:

In July 2010, the first big step to my life adventure happened. I was offered the opportunity to work for a Bobst (company that i used to work since my young age) agent in Australia for a period of two years. I didn’t hesitate at all and jumped to this wonderful opportunity. Then I had to endeavor all the procedures in order to obtain a sponsorvisa in Australia. Trust me, migrant visas in Australia is not easy at all to obtain. Finally, after eight months of waiting, I finally got the Australian sponsorvisa! It was then my first big step to head to Melbourne, Australia.

The second big step:

Before I flew to Australia, I had a lot of things in my mind, I wondered if I would be able to perform my job to my best ability, if I would be able to live faraway from home, without the comfort and support from my friends and family. Suddenly, the big day arrived, I will never forget, April 11, 2011, I was not ready but I wanted to challenge myself and went across the other side of the world, what they call “the land down under”, leaving everything behind and starting my “new life”.

It was definitely not the easiest at the beginning of my Australian experience, there was a lot of work, I was unable to be with my swiss-friends, it was a challenge as well as I had to speak a different language than my native language… But over time, I told myself that I had to hold strong and stay positive.

Bobst gave me a great opportunity that many people in the world would only be dreaming about. So, “giving up” did not even cross my mind, it was not even an option... Before I knew it, in a blink of an eye, those twenty-three months passed by. Throughout those months of experience, I only realize how lucky I was to be alive, to have a job with a lot of amazing opportunities, a family in good health etc... I realized that life was absolutely fantastic and that at the rate it was going I will never have the time to experience all that I would really like to live. Unless i could live nine lives in parallel, which is of course not possible.

On Friday, March 8, 2013, it was more or less twenty-three months that I lived in Melbourne. That day, I made my second big step, I left Australia to begin a total “free life”.

Nobody forced me to leave Australia, the agent of Bobst who I worked for even offered me to extend my sponsorvisa... It wasn’t that I didn’t enjoy my job, because it was a fantastic job, has flexible hours, every day different and had a good salary. Neither the fact that I didn't have a girlfriend, because it was like 10 months that I was living with my girlfriend. An amazing girl who had all for her, who has given me everything, but unfortunately I had to leave her in Australia ...

So why did i decide to leave Australia ?!?

It is the simple fact that i realized that I wanted more in my life. A need to further explore this beautiful planet called Earth... a need to open my mind, to discover new cultures, meet new people, have new experiences...

Shortly after my arrival in Australia, I started to write a list of things I had always wanted to see, fulfill, feel and experience. Throughout my stay in Australia I have added news things on this list. I put myself in a state of mind that I wanted to achieve the most I can.

The idea to start writing this list of things to do also called "to do list", "life's list" or "bucket list" came to me after an evening spent watching the movie "The bucket list" (movie created in 2007 by the American Rob Reiner). This movie inspired me a lot and, after that, I made several researches on the internet about the "bucket list"...

After alll of these thoughts and researches, then came Friday 8 March 2013, another date that I will not forget, I decided to leave everything aside and start a new lifestyle again. I had an objective to fulfill most things that were on my list as well as live life normally day by day, without knowing what was waiting for me the next day ... From here comes my favorite quote: "Yesterday is history, today is a gift, tomorrow is a mystery (Alice Morse Earle)."

But why a change in lifestyle ?!?

What would you do if you only had one week to live, or even one day, one hour? What would you do if somebody said you only have twenty-four hours to live? Would you go to the other side of the world ? Bungee jumping? Jumping off an airplane?  Gamble all your money at the casino? Or simply tell your loved ones how much you love them? One thing is for sure, you will change the way you live your life.

So why wait to know that you have only one day left to change your life and realise your dreams? Sometimes we forget that we only live once and that each day is lost forever ...

Why www.enjoytavie.com ?

After all this, I said, in the end, why not create my own website with my own experiences... That’s where this website came from > www.enjoytavie.com. So if you have a little bit of free time, have a look at it, let me know what you think, and why not pick up a pen, a piece of paper and start writing a list of things that you would like to achieve in your life....

Remember, we only live once, we only have this one time opportunity in life, live your dreams, don’t dream your life…
